List of Indian motorcycle import models
India is a brand trademark used since 1901 by U.S. manufacturers and importers of motorcycles and various two-wheeled motorized vehicles. Indian experienced several ownership changes in its history, but all ownership from 1953 until the late 1980's primarily focused on the distribution of Badge engineered small motorcycles, mopeds, mini-cycles, and dirt bikes. Below is a list of all imported models organized by year of introduction, with the drivetrain, Indian-ownership and vehicle-supplier information, when available.
Model | Introduced | Style | Drivetrain | Transmission | Origin |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

^ Note: The 1951 Indian Brave was a Lightweight 248cc two-stroke single-cylinder model designed by Indian during Rogers ownership to replace the CZ125. This model would be manufactured in England, at a factory owned by then-current Indian President John Brockhouse. This makes the Brave a grey-area regarding the claim of it being an imported, or Badge-engineered model. It is an American designed, outsourced-manufactured model.

In 1960, the English company Associated Motor Cycles purchased the Indian Trademark. As they also owned Royal Enfield at the time of the acquisition, they ceased the rebadging of all Enfield models as Indians, with the exception of the Chief. This model had been previously distinct from the donor Royal Enfield Constellation, by a two-inch longer wheelbase and smaller 18" wheels with larger tires to make it more Americanized. AMC continued to offer this model under the Indian Brandname until 1962, when AMC sold the trademark to focus efforts on their Norton and Matchless Brands.
