'Jamia Faiz–e-Aam (الجامعة الإسلامية فيض عام)' is a well-known, central, ancient and Islamic Jamia of India, located in the industrial city of eastern U.P. Maunath Bhanjan with its links to education dating back to Shah Waliullah Mohaddis Delhlvi (1176 A.H.). It was established in 1902 A.D. (1320 A.H.) by dignitaries of the city. The eminent Islamic scholar Hafiz Abdullah Ghazipuri inaugurated the educational activities. Maulana Mohammad Ahmad, known as ‘Bade Maulvi Saheb’, was among the early teachers appointed here. He was an able pupil of Miyan Nazeer Husain Mohaddis Dehlavi.

Madrasa Faiz-e-Aam, which consisted of only a few rooms in its early days, developed into a large Jamia and is referenced as a reliable center of the Arabic language, literature, and modern education along with Islamic education as a priority. With its multi-story building, there are 98 rooms that can accommodate 81 teachers and employees, and 2098 boys and girls students. Under this Jamia, there are three main branches, namely Madrasa Faiz-e-Aam, Madrasa Faiz-e-Aam Niswan (Girls), and Faiz-e-Aam girls school, and two sub-branches that are active in their services. Apart from primary level education, there is also the full facility of teaching courses like Almiyat, Fazilat, and board courses such as Munshi, Kamil, Maulvi, Alim, and Fazil. Along with various educational and Daawati activities, there is a student's union to promote their abilities both in the spoken and written field. It also has its own library and publishes an annual magazine ‘Faizan’. For all these qualities, this Jamia is notable in India and abroad, as there has always been the appointment of able and expert teachers here. This is the reason that apart from U.P., a good number of students from various states like Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Gujrat, and A.P., etc. are involved in the activities like teaching, research, and authorship both in the country and abroad. No other madrasa or Islamic institute of India appoints Faizi Ulama or teachers. Among those who have completed their education from this Jamia, some notable Ulama are Maulana Mohammad Ahmad, the former manager of this Jamia; Maulana Abdullah Shaeq, the founder of Madrasa Darul Hadees; Maulana Habibur Rahman Faizi, the former manager of the Jamia; Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Faizi Nadvi, the former chief of Markazi Jamiat-e- Ahle Hadis Hind and the founder of Jamia Mohammadia, Malegaon; Dr. Muqtada Hasan Azhari, former head and rector of Jamia Salfia Benaras; Maulana Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri, the writer of ‘Al-Raheequl-Makhtoom’ a winner book in an international competition conducted by K.S.A. and Dr. Abdul Ali Azhari (London), etc. Moreover, it has the affiliation with various universities like Madina Munawwarah University, Ummul Qura Makka Mokarrama University, Shah Saud University, and Imam Mohammad Islamic University Riyadh in Arab countries and with Hamdard University, J.N.U., etc. in India. A major number of students in this Jamia head towards the top Universities for higher education after they complete their education and thus they play vital roles in building the country and the religion.[1]
