| Description | "Swaraj" is the brand-name promoted by Punjab Tractors Limited (PTL) for its agricultural products. PTL was the first Indian company to indigenously manufacture agricultural tractors in India. The name "Swaraj" is adopted from the concept of self-rule put forth by MK Gandhi, the father of Nation. Following acquisition of Punjab Trcators Limited by Mahindra & Mahindra in 2007 and its subsequent merger in 2009, the division was named as Swaraj division of Mahindra & Mahindra and the strongly established brand-name "Swaraj" was retained for the products made by Swaraj division. |
