English: Shown above is a picture of Pitang Oying, a delicacy traditionally prepared by the Mising people. The Misings are an indegenious community of people living in parts of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh (India). The delicacy is often prepared with meat usually chicken, boiled and cooked with red lentils and rice flour. Crushed ginger, garlic and chopped onions are added in the beginning of the cooking process, like most other Indian curries. Furthermore some curry leaves and ginger leaves are also added to the stew at the end of the cooking process, giving the dish a characteristic flavour.
