Since beginning fifteen minutes ago, a sudden rainstorm (strong enough to produce hail) has caused flash flooding, despite the drainage afforded by the three-foot-wide storm drain visible in the upper image. Newspaper boxes, swept away by the fast-moving waters, are floating around, while a Jeep fords the water at far right and other vehicles turn around to find another route.
