  • Maithili: It is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in Southeast Nepal, North & East Bihar and north-east Jharkhand, it is spoken by almost 85 million in India and Nepal 2024 estimate.
  • Santali: It is an Austroasiatic language spoken in east Jharkhand by 8 million in India.
  • Magahi: It is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in South Bihar and North Jharkhand, it is spoken by almost 40 million in India.
  • Bhojpuri: It is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in West Bihar, East UP and north-west Jharkhand, it is spoken by almost 80 million in India and some tarai regions of Nepal.
  • Nagpuri: It is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in West Jharkhand, it is spoken by almost 15 million in India.
  • Mundari, Ho, Kharia are Austroasiatic languages spoken mainly in parts of Jharkhand.
