Summary
DescriptionJonha falls, Jharkhand.jpg
English: Jonha Falls is a waterfall on the rarhu river. It is located about 50 kilometres away from Ranchi. These falls are also named Gautam Dhara after Gautam Buddha. There are two Buddha temples near the Jonha falls, which were built by the king Baldev Roy. This is one of the safest waterfalls of Ranchi as it does not have a deep plunge pool beneath the waterfall. One can even bath just beneath the falling water as the bottom is filled with sand and shingle. The stretch is rocky formed of basaltic rocks and the area including other waterfalls such as Hundru, Sita falls etc are the result of a geographical phenomenon called rejuvenation.
