The Jadupatua style of scroll painting is made by the Santhal tribe that resides in the West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha states of India. The art of scroll painting in these regions is called "Pattachitra." Jadu patua literally means "magical painters."

বাংলা: কাগজে তৈরি, ফ্রেমবন্দী একটি হস্তনির্মিত জাদুপটুয়া-শৈলীর চিত্র। জাদুপটুয়া পটচিত্রশৈলী ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, ঝাড়খণ্ড ও ওড়িশা রাজ্যে বসবাসকারী সাঁওতাল জনগোষ্ঠীর শিল্পীরা তৈরি করেন। এই অঞ্চলগুলির পটচিত্রকলাকে “পটচিত্র” বলা হয়। “জাদু পটুয়া” শব্দটির আক্ষরিক অর্থ “জাদুকর চিত্রকররা”।

ಕನ್ನಡ: ಕಾಗದದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ರಚಿಸಲಾದ, ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಾದುಪಟುವಾ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆ. ಜಾದುಪಟುವಾ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಸುರುಳಿ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಭಾರತದ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳ, ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಒಡಿಶಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಸಂತಾಲ್ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗದ ಕಲಾವಿದರು ರಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಸುರುಳಿ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲೆಯನ್ನು “ಪಟ್ಟಚಿತ್ರ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. “ಜಾದು ಪಟುವಾ” ಎಂಬುದರ ಅಕ್ಷರಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ “ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರರು”.
