English: The World’s Intact Forest Landscapes (IFLs): IFL (green), Forest zone outside IFL (orange). Deutsch: Die intakten Waldlandschaften innerhalb der waldbedeckten Gebiete der Erde (Intact Forest Landscapes, IFL)[30] sind vollkommen unzerschnittene, weitgehend unbewohnte, ökologisch intakte, naturgewachsene Waldlandschaften mit einer Mindestgröße von 50.000 ha und einer Mindestbreite von 10 km, die nicht forstwirtschaftlich genutzt werden und in den letzten 30–70 Jahren auch nicht anderweitig industriell genutzt wurden. Das IFL-Konzept wurde entwickelt vom World Resources Institute und weitergeführt u. a. von Global Forest Watch und Greenpeace. Es basiert vor allem auf der Auswertung von Satellitenbildern. |
