Erschienen in Hanns-Bruno Geinitz' "Das Elbthalgebirge in Sachsen - Erster Theil: Der Untere Quader" (1871-1875). Von ihm als Überreste von "Seeschwämmen" gedeutet und u.a. als Spongites saxonicus Geinitz, 1842 beschrieben. Der Verursacher ist wohl ein Decapode (Zehnfüßerkrebs).
