English: Hanging (suspension) bridge over the Periyar River, view from south portal, Ayyappancoil, Idukki distt, Kerala, India. During the 6 months prior to the SW monsoon in June, the river is far below the bridge. During the monsoon, the Idukki Reservoir fills up to inundate most of the grassy area.
