The statue was being repainted at that time, thus giving it a garish colour visible here. It is otherwise painted in bright colours.
[Corregendum: This is not the largest Guru statue now. Presently, the largest Guru statue is installed at Lhuntshi in Bhutan (Kuensel-http://www.kuenselonline.com/gurus-statue-consecration-on-november-1/]
