Feita em bronze, a obra de Gautam Pal foi doada pela Índia como reconhecimento ao trabalho da Associação Palas Athena na divulgação do pensamento de Gandhi no Brasil.

Com 1,80 de altura e 400 quilos, ficará na praça Túlio Fontoura, numa clareira de um bosque de eucaliptos, entre a Assembléia Legislativa e o parque Ibirapuera, onde será criado o Espaço Gandhi. ( Fonte Folha Online 13/08/2002 - 09h43 )
