1969 में छोटे स्तर पर शुरू की गई बनास डेयरी आज दूध प्रोडक्शन में एशिया का नंबर एक पर है। बनास डेयरी के उत्पाद बनास, सागर और अमूल के नाम से बाजार में हैं। खास बात ये है कि 1969 में बनास डेयरी की नींव डालने के महज चार साल बाद 1973 में गलबाभाई दुनिया छोड़ गए, लेकिन उनकी दूरदर्शिता ने चार साल में ही एक ऐसी बुनियाद रख दी थी, कि दुनिया आज उन्हें श्वेत क्रान्ति का जनक कहती है।

खास बात ये है कि 1969 में बनास डेयरी की नींव डालने के महज चार साल बाद 1973 में गलबाभाई दुनिया छोड़ गए, लेकिन उनकी दूरदर्शिता ने चार साल में ही एक ऐसी बुनियाद रख दी थी, कि दुनिया आज उन्हें श्वेत क्रान्ति का जनक कहती है।

रेगिस्तान का इलाका होने के कारण बनासकाठा में कभी बेहद गरीबी थी, लेकिन बनास डेयरी के क्षेत्र में आने के बाद क्षेत्र में जो खुशहाली आई, उसके लिए पूरा क्षेत्र गलबाभाई को याद करता है।
