English: (marked in blue) according to the 2021 study "Modelling the end of the Acheulean at global and continental levels suggests widespread persistence into the Middle Palaeolithic"
"Some regions have stronger evidence for the presence of Acheulean technology than others. In some instances this may not reflect whether hominins with knowledge of Acheulean technology were present, but instead, reflects political and historical differences between regions and their influence on archaeological discoveries. Alternatively, there may be reduced requirements for Acheulean technologies in some of these regions (e.g. the classic Movius line debate [Lycett and Bae, 2010]). In all instances other than central Saharan regions there is archaeological and/or fossil evidence suggesting hominin presence during portions of the Acheulean period, or strong motivation to infer their presence.
