English: Some of the Koeris of North Bihar follow the sub sects of Hinduism like Arya Samaj. In the death and marriage related rituals, they employ the non Brahmin priest, who are basically from Koeri or Yadav castes. The rituals observed after death is also different from tradition followed in Brahminical Hinduism. Unlike burning on funeral pyre, the deceased is kept in a pit dug by his relatives and then burnt by using cow dung cakes and Ghee . |
