Description
English: Photograph of Dakshineshwar temple from 'Views of Calcutta and Barrackpore' was taken by Samuel Bourne in the 1860s. The temple was built by Rani Rashmoni in 1855 and is dedicated to the goddess Kali. Within the temple complex there are twelve smaller temples devoted to Shiva.
