D. Jayakumar is politician and senior leader from ADMK party. He is a incumbent Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He is the former Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly until his resignation on 29 September 2012. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Royapuram constituency as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the 1991, 2001, 2006 elections, 2011 elections and 2016 elections. He also served as the Minister for Fisheries and Personnel and Administrative Reforms. He is a strong candidate of ADMK party from Royapuram constitution.
