English: Bhaiphonta Sandesh is a type of special sandesh prepared on the occasion of Bhaiphonta. It is typically made of 'norom pak', is round in shape, a has the top surface shaped using mould to give two distinct impressions (a) sister putting phonta on brother's forehead using her left little finger (b) the word 'bhaiphonta' written in Bengali script. It is customary for the sister to include a Bhaiphonta Sandesh in the platter of five sweets that she offers to the brother. |
