It appears there were two influential individuals during the era of the Sikh Empire that had the name of "Gurmukh Singh", namely:

1) Giani Gurmukh Singh (1824–1884): [1]

2) Bhai Gurmukh Singh Giani (died 1843): [2]

It is unknown which Gurmukh Singh is specifically depicted in this painting of the two.
