English: One of the most important, comprehensive treatises on music theory from 13th century India. It is voluminous, has 7 chapters and discusses music, instruments and dance. The image shows the first four verses of the first section of the first chapter. These express reverence for Hindu god Shiva and the Hindu metaphysical concept of Brahman.
