Tanuj Samaddar (born 2004) is an Indian artist, researcher and youth activist. He is a recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from the President of India and the Karmaveer Chakra.[1][2][3]
Tanuj has also received the Global Kids' Achievers Award and was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize.[4][5] He was selected as one of only five fellows worldwide for the prestigious Global PeaceJam Fellowship in 2025.[6] Samaddar was selected by UNFCCC to participate in the World Conservation Congress 2025, held in Abu Dhabi, where he threw spotlight on wetlands threat in Assam and participated in key thematic sessions.[7][8][9]

He was born and raised in the quaint township of Rangia in Assam's Kamrup district, where he grew up in a modest household with his father serving as the family's sole breadwinner amid financial constraints.[10]
