Roktochaya (Bengali: রক্তছায়া; English: Blood Shadow) is a Bangladeshi psychological thriller short film written, directed, and produced by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi. The film explores themes of domestic violence, psychological trauma, and gender inequality.[1][2]

Roktochaya follows a child raised in an environment dominated by fear rather than affection. Exposure to domestic violence and authoritarian control deeply affects the child’s psychological development, leaving long-term emotional consequences.[6]
Parallel to this narrative, the story follows a determined female police officer investigating a series of crimes while confronting systemic gender bias.[7]
