Rajvir Jawanda
Rajvir Jawanda (c. 1990 – 8 October 2025) was an Indian Punjabi singer and actor known for his popular songs such as Kali Jawande Di, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari, and Do Ni Sajna.[1] He was regarded as one of the leading voices in modern Punjabi folk and pop music.

Early lifeEdit
Rajvir Jawanda was born in the village of Pona in Jagraon, Ludhiana district, Punjab, India.[2] He completed his schooling and higher education in Punjab and initially aspired to join the Punjab Police before turning to music.[3] He learned classical music under the guidance of Lalli Khan, who became his mentor.[4]
Music careerEdit
Rajvir Jawanda made his debut as a singer in 2014 with the track Munda Like Me.[5] He rose to prominence with hits including Kali Jawande Di, Khush Reha Kar, Sardari, Do Ni Sajna, and Kangani.[6] His songs often reflected Punjabi cultural pride and rural themes.[7] His final release, Morni, came out in 2025 shortly before his accident.[8]
Acting careerEdit
Jawanda appeared in Punjabi cinema as well, playing supporting and lead roles. He made his film debut with Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), followed by a lead role in Jind Jaan (2019).[9] His acting received positive attention for its natural style and connection with Punjabi audiences.[10]
Accident and deathEdit
On 27 September 2025, Rajvir Jawanda was involved in a severe motorcycle accident while traveling from Baddi to Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.[11] Reports indicated that he lost control of his motorcycle after cattle suddenly appeared on the road.[12] He was first taken to a hospital in Solan and later shifted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, where he was kept on life support for eleven days.[13]
He succumbed to his injuries on 8 October 2025 at the age of 35.[1] Doctors cited multiple brain and spinal injuries as the cause of death.[14] Following his death, tributes poured in from fellow Punjabi artists including Diljit Dosanjh and Gippy Grewal, who praised his dedication and humility.[15]

Rajvir Jawanda’s songs and films continue to be celebrated for their deep connection with Punjabi culture and folk music. His music remains widely streamed on online platforms, and his fans remember him for his humility and positive spirit.[16]
