Prashant Kumar Saini (also known as Prashant Saini) is an Indian politician from Jaipur, Rajasthan. He is the founder and National President of the Viraj Jan Party, a political party established in 2022.[1][2]
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Saini completed a postgraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Rajasthan. He has also obtained a Master of Business Administration degree and has studied subjects including economics, international business, sociology, finance, sales, marketing and entrepreneurship.[3][4]
Political career[edit | edit source]
Saini contested the 2019 Indian general election from the Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency as an independent candidate.[5] He received 2,131 votes and was not elected.[6]
In 2022, he founded the Viraj Jan Party and became its National President.[1][7]
Social activities[edit | edit source]
Saini is associated with an organisation named Virat Sena, which works in the areas of animal treatment, shelter and feeding of stray animals.[8]
Legal proceedings[edit | edit source]
Saini filed a writ petition before the Delhi High Court concerning the registration of an organisation named Virat Sena with the Election Commission of India.[9]
The petition sought a writ of mandamus directing the Election Commission of India to expedite the registration process. The petition stated that delays in processing the application and lack of communication from the Commission had affected the organisation's operations.[9]
