Praful Prakash Hinge (born 18 January 2002) is an Indian cricketer who plays as a right-arm medium-fast bowler for Vidarbha in domestic cricket and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL).[1] He made history in 2026 by becoming the first bowler in IPL history to take three wickets in his very first over on debut.[2]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Hinge was born on 18 January 2002 in Nagpur, Maharashtra.[3] He rose through the ranks of Vidarbha's age-group cricket, gaining prominence during the 2023–24 CK Nayudu Trophy, where he claimed 26 wickets at an average of 19.03.[4]
Domestic career[edit | edit source]
Hinge made his first-class debut for Vidarbha in the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy against Puducherry.[5] He was a member of the Vidarbha squad that won the Ranji Trophy in the 2024–25 season and the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2025–26.[2]
In the 2025 Vidarbha Pro T20 League, he represented the NECO Master Blaster, leading their pace attack to a title victory while taking eight wickets in six matches.[4] He made his senior T20 debut for Vidarbha against Andhra in the 2025–26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, finishing with figures of 1/23.[5]
Indian Premier League[edit | edit source]
Hinge was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹30 lakh during the IPL 2026 auction.[4][6] On 13 April 2026, he made his debut against Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. In his first over, he dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius, becoming the first player to take three wickets in his opening over on IPL debut.[7][8] In his second over, he also dismissed Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag. He finished the match with figures of 4/34.[9]
