Ponnam Rahul (born 4 February 1992) is an Indian cricketer who represents Kerala in domestic cricket. He is a left-handed top order batsman and right-arm off-spinner.[1]
Domestic career[edit | edit source]
After representing Kerala in U-22 and U-25 levels,[1] Rahul made his first-class debut for Kerala in the 2017ā18 Ranji Trophy on 6 October 2017 against Jharkhand.[2] He featured Kerala in two matches scoring just 19 runs averaging 6.33.[3] He played 6 matches in the next season, scoring 370 runs and finished the tournament as Kerala's fourth highest run-scorer.[4] He also scored his maiden century in first-class cricket in the season.[5] However, he scored just 137 runs from five matches the following season[6] with a highest score of 97.[7]
He made his List A debut on 29 September 2019, for Kerala in the 2019ā20 Vijay Hazare Trophy against Hyderabad.[8] He played six matches in the tournament scoring 124 runs with an average of 31.[9] He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 November 2019, for Kerala in the 2019ā20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Tamil Nadu.[10] He played only two matches scoring a total of 11 runs from those.[11] In November 2021, he was named in the Kerala squad to play the 2021ā22 Vijay Hazare Trophy.[12]
