Vellapanti is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Amarpreet G. S. Chhabra and produced by Rajat Bakshi under the banner of Make My Day Entertainments. The film stars Ansh Bagri, Siddharth Sagar, Bhavin Bhanushali and Chandan Bakshi in the principal roles.[1]

The film follows four childhood friends who pursue their ambitions while repeatedly finding themselves in difficult situations.

The film was announced in June 2020. The film was produced by Rajat Bakshi under the banner Make My Day Entertainments.[4] The casting and creative vision of the film were handled by Dinesh Sudarshan Soi.[5]
Casting[edit | edit source]
Bhavin Bhanushali, Ansh Bagri, Sidharth Sagar and Chandan Bakshi were cast in the film.[6] Sapna Gill was cast opposite Ansh Bagri,[7] while Sidhika Sharma was cast opposite Chandan Bakshi.[8] Rahul Dev,[9] Pradeep Kabra,[10] and Abhishek Khanna[11] subsequently joined the cast.

Vellapanti was released theatrically in India on 30 May 2025.[12] The film has a reported runtime of approximately 139 minutes and is in the Hindi language.[13]

The soundtrack of Vellapanti was composed by Ashok Punjabi, Durgesh R. Rajbhatt, DJ Sheizwood and Parivesh Singh.[14] The soundtrack was released by Hit Gaana Records in May 2025. The title track, "Vellapanti", was released on 21 May 2025 and was performed by Dev Negi and Palak Rannkka, with music by Parivesh Singh and lyrics by Priyanka R. Bala.[15]

Vellapanti received mixed reviews from critics. Film Information gave the film a negative assessment, describing the story and screenplay as weak and calling it a "non-starter". It also found the performances mixed, while praising the cinematography.[16]
Times Now Navbharat was more positive, praising the film's pacing, screenplay and comic performances, particularly those of Siddharth Sagar and Chandan Bakshi. It awarded the film 3.5 out of 5 stars.[17] Prabhat Khabar gave the film 3 out of 5 stars, describing it as a light comedy-crime-romance entertainer and considering it a one-time watch, while noting mixed performances.[18]
Nettv4u also gave a mixed assessment, noting that some comedy sequences and performances worked but criticising the familiar story, screenplay and dialogue.[19] Lokmat News gave the film 3 out of 5 stars, describing it as a combination of comedy, crime and young romance. It praised the film's humorous sequences, consistent tone and cinematography, while giving mixed assessments of the performances.[20]
