Navjot Gulati is an Indian screenwriter and filmmaker. He has worked as a writer and director in Hindi-language films and web series. His credits include the films Running Shaadi, Ginny Weds Sunny and Jai Mummy Di, as well as the web series Happily Ever After and Industry.[1]

Gulati worked as a writer on the 2017 Hindi film Running Shaadi. He subsequently co-wrote the romantic comedy film Ginny Weds Sunny (2020).
In 2020, Gulati made his feature-film directorial debut with Jai Mummy Di, a Hindi romantic comedy starring Sunny Singh, Sonnalli Seygall, Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon. He directed and co-wrote the film with Davinder Kaur.[2] Gulati also worked in web series. In 2020, he wrote and directed the romantic comedy series Happily Ever After, which featured Naveen Kasturia and Harshita Gaur.[3]
In 2024, Gulati created and directed the Hindi-language miniseries Industry.[4]

Controversy[edit | edit source]
In June 2021, Gulati became involved in a public dispute with screenwriter Kanika Dhillon over the writing credit shown in the trailer of Haseen Dillruba.[6][7] Gulati's comments about Dhillon's prominent credit were criticized by Dhillon and actor Taapsee Pannu, who described them as sexist and misogynistic.[8][9] Gulati subsequently clarified that his comments were intended to raise concerns about the lack of writing credits in promotional material and apologized to those who were offended by his remarks.[10][11][12]
