Maya Satya Bhram (bn; transl. Illusion Truth Confusion) is an 2026 Indian Bengali-language psychological thriller[1], written and directed by Samik Roy Choudhury. It stars Soham Mojumdar, Priyanka Sarkar and Sanat Chattopadhyay in lead roles alongside Alexandra Taylor, Paran Bandopadhyay and Debesh Roychowdhury in supporting role. The film premiered at the 2026 New York Indian Film Festival.[2]

When a police officer investigates the disappearance of his young son and a Swedish researcher, both cases lead to a mysterious shaman whose past challenges everything he believes about reality, faith and death.

Development and Casting[edit | edit source]
Following the success of his previous film Beline, writer-director Samik Roy Choudhury conceptualized and wrote the script for Maya Satya Bhram during a retreat in the mountains. Priyanka Sarkar was ultimately cast alongside Soham Mojumdar, who secured the male lead after several other prominent actors were approached.[1]
Filming[edit | edit source]
Pre-production for the project, which included extensive cast workshops and brainstorming sessions, was already underway by November 2024. Principal photography was scheduled to begin shortly after, with the production team planning to continue shooting through the New Year period.[1]
