This template marks the top of a closed Articles for deletion discussion. It is used together with {{Afd bottom}}, which is placed at the very end of the discussion.
Usage
When closing a discussion, add this template at the very top of the discussion page, and substitute it:
{{subst:Afd top|result}}
The single parameter is the result of the discussion, for example:
{{subst:Afd top|Keep}}
The named form gives the same output:
{{subst:Afd top|result=Delete}}
Add your closing statement and signature at the end of the discussion, and then place {{subst:Afd bottom}} below it.
Standard results
Use one of the standard outcomes, so that closed discussions read consistently:
- Keep
- Delete
- Merge, naming the article the content is merged into
- Redirect, naming the target article
- No consensus
- Speedy keep or Speedy delete, where a speedy criterion clearly applied
After closing
- Carry out the result: delete the article, or remove its deletion notice if the result is keep.
- If the discussion was added to a deletion sorting list, remove it from that list.
- Do not edit the discussion further once it is closed. Anyone who disagrees with a closure can take it to Bharatpedia:Deletion review.
