Manoj Meena is an Indian entrepreneur and the co-founder of Atomberg Technologies,[1] a Mumbai-based consumer appliances and electronics company known for manufacturing energy-efficient ceiling fans.[2] He served as the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) until assuming the role of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD).[3][4]
Early life and education
Meena was raised in Rajasthan and studied at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), where he graduated in 2011 with a dual degree (B.Tech. and M.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering, specializing in communication and signal processing.[5] During his studies, he engaged in projects related to robotics and embedded electronics.[5][2][6][7]
Career
In 2011, Meena founded Atomberg Technologies, originally focusing on research and development, motor control systems, and data acquisition hardware for industrial applications.[8][9] Fellow IIT Bombay alumnus Sibabrata Das joined the company as co-founder in 2013.[10][11]
In 2015, the company shifted its focus toward the consumer appliance market after developing a ceiling fan utilizing brushless DC (BLDC) technology, designed to consume less power than conventional induction motor fans.[12][5] The fan was introduced under the "Gorilla" brand name before the company transitioned its product line under the unified Atomberg brand, later expanding into smart home appliances and small household electronics.[8][12]
