A hospital is a health care institution that provides treatment to patients by specialised staff and equipment. Hospitals offer inpatient care, where patients stay overnight, as well as outpatient services, emergency care, surgery and diagnostic facilities. They range from small local clinics with a few beds to large teaching hospitals attached to medical colleges.
