This guideline covers the notability of cryptocurrencies and related projects, as a supplement to Bharatpedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and the general rules at Bharatpedia:Notability.
A cryptocurrency, token or related project is notable only if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the project itself, such as established financial or technology journalism and published books. The following do not establish notability:
- the project's own website, white paper, blog or social media accounts;
- exchange listings, price-tracking pages and market-capitalisation rankings by themselves;
- press releases, sponsored articles and paid placements;
- routine price reporting that does not discuss the project in depth.
Articles on cryptocurrencies must be written neutrally, must not read as investment advice or promotion, and must cover criticism and failures where sources do so.
