"Panthoibi" (Meitei: ꯄꯥꯟꯊꯣꯢꯕꯤ), also spelt as "Panthoipi" (Old Manipuri: ꯄꯥꯟꯊꯣꯢꯄꯤ), is a primordial goddess in Meitei mythology and religion.[1] She is associated with agricultural fertility, abundance, war and love in Meitei mythology.[2][3][4] Legend says she was taught the art of pottery by goddess Leimarel Sidabi before she had disappeared forever.[5] She is the consort of Nongpok Ningthou.[6] Panthoibi Iratpa, a religious festival dedicated to her, is celebrated every year.[7][8][9]
