Sanamahism, also known as Meitei religion or Ancient Manipuri religion or Kanglei religion, is an indigenous antique ancestor worshipping paganism originated from Ancient Manipur (Ancient Kangleipak). It is mainly practised by the Meitei people and the indigenous tribesmen ethic groups of present day Manipur. Being a polytheism, it has more than one thousand gods and goddesses worshipped in various pantheons.
