Handwara massacre

The Handwara massacre refers to the killing of 21 protestors in downtown Handwara on 25 January 1990. Locals told Asia Watch, while being vocal and highly critical of the security forces and government of India, that the protest was peaceful. [1] Victims are still waiting for Justice.
