Yadgir Fort[1] is one of the largest hill forts in Karnataka state. It is belived to be originally built by Kalyana Chalukyas[when?] and later strengthened by Yadava rulers and expanded under Muslim rulers. In terms of the size and strength, Yadgir fort can be compared to the other hill forts like Ballary Cand hitradurga aa these forts have multiple levels and built over rocky hills.[2]
Yadgir fort has a mix of influences, when it comes to architectural styles. There are Jain, Islamic and Shaivite touches in the fort.[3]
