Introduction
The goal of Bharatpedia is to build a freely accessible, open-content encyclopedia. All text contributed to Bharatpedia is released under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), unless explicitly specified otherwise.
By contributing text or media to Bharatpedia, you grant the public permission to re-use, modify, and distribute your work freely, provided they offer appropriate credit and license any derivative works under the same terms.

Contributing original text
When you publish original text on Bharatpedia, you agree to license it under CC BY-SA 4.0. You retain copyright to your original work while allowing others to reuse and adapt it under these terms.
Importing text from external sources
You may import text from external sources (such as Wikipedia or public domain archives) only if the text meets one of the following criteria:
- It is in the Public Domain.
- It is available under a license compatible with CC BY-SA 4.0 (e.g., CC BY, CC BY-SA).
Attribution required: If you import text under a Creative Commons license, you must provide attribution in the edit summary or on the talk page by providing a link back to the original source.
Do not submit copyrighted material without permission
Do not paste text, images, or media copied from copyrighted websites, books, or magazines without explicit permission from the copyright holder. Submitting copyrighted material without proper authorization is a violation of Bharatpedia policy and law.
Images and media files
All uploaded media files must include a valid copyright tag on their file description page.
- Free media: Uploaded under free licenses (such as CC BY-SA, CC BY, or Public Domain) can be used anywhere across Bharatpedia.
- Non-free / Fair Use content: Non-free images (logos, screenshots, historical photos where no free alternative exists) must satisfy Bharatpedia's Non-Free Content Criteria (Fair Use).
Re-using Bharatpedia content
If you wish to re-use content from Bharatpedia on your own website, book, or application, you must follow the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license:
- Attribution: Give credit to Bharatpedia and its contributors by providing a hyperlink or URL back to the page you are reusing.

Copyright violations and reporting
