Garima Poddar (Hindi: गरिमा पोद्दार; born 3 April 1997) won IIHM Young Chef India schools in 2014 at the age of 17.[1]
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Born into a Marwari family in Kolkata.
She completed her schooling from Calcutta Girls' High School,[2] Kolkata and pursued her studies in Bachelors of Business Administration with specialisation in Marketing from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. She secured first class honours.
Garima completed her Masters Program MA in Culinary Arts Management from University College Birmingham in the United Kingdom. She secured a distinction.
Career[edit | edit source]
She won IIHM Young Chef India title among 3000 schools and 30,000 students of India she was selected as first finalist from Eastern Region.
She was praised for her food idea tweets on X (formerly twitter) by renowned chefs such as Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Chef Gordon Ramsay.[3] She managed to put up 10 dishes in 3 hours in the London Competition. She has been selected and awarded by his excellency Shri Pranab Mukherjee President Of India as one of the top #100 women achievers India ( a Pan India E-voting Contest organised by the government in January 2016) in globalising India category through food as she had prepared 10 varieties of rare Indian dishes in the finals of the cooking competition in London.
