The carriage is driven by a male figure wearing a golden crown and holding a whip and the reins of the horses. Vasudeva and Devaki, the parents of Kṛṣṇa, ride at the back of the carriage. They each hold a flower in their right hands and are lavishly attired. They wear golden clothing and large amounts of jewellery. The carriage travels along a flat landscape and the painting is surrounded by a black border.
