Jang Media Group
The Jang Media Group (Urdu: جنگ میڈیا گروپ, Hindi: जङ्ग मीडिया ग्रुप् ), commonly referred to as Geo Group, is a prominent media conglomerate based in Pakistan and operates as a subsidiary of the Dubai-based Independent Media Corporation. Its headquarters are situated in Printing House, Karachi.

The group is known for publishing the Urdu-language newspaper, Daily Jang, along with The News International and Mag Weekly. It also runs the Geo News and Geo TV channels.

Historical Background
Founded by Mir Khalil ur Rehman, a businessman of Kashmiri heritage, the Jang Group emerged at the conclusion of World War II. As of 2011, the group is chaired by his eldest son, Mir Javed ur Rehman, who also serves as the executive director. His younger sibling, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman, holds the position of group chief executive and editor-in-chief. The Independent Media Corporation, a multimedia entity, encompasses both the Jang Group of Newspapers and the Geo Television Network, which is also headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan. Mir Ibrahim Rahman is the chief executive of Geo Television Network, while Imran Aslam served as its president.
