Shiv Nath Chak is 1974 batch IPS officer and has been the Director General in Uttar Pradesh Police.[1] He has also worked as Director General in Indian railways.[2][3] SN Chak retired as Director General of Police working in the capacity of DG (Prosecution) Uttar Pradesh Police on 30 June 2011.[4]
Early life and education
SN Chak belonged to a very poor family, and used to paste stickers on bidi packets to earn money for his education.[5]
Political & social career
Actively participated in social activities since 1997. Published "Samaj Sanjeevani" magazenes, journals, directory named "GharDwar" of Khatik community. Organised various sammelans, civil services preparatory classes and founded "Rashtravadi Khatik Vikas Parishad", later named "Rashtravadi Khatik Vikas Samiti" to provide a platform for social service to youth.[6][7] Samiti enjoys good respect among khatik community throughout India.[8]
He founded Desh Shakti Party, to uphold Constitution and for political empowerment of SC, ST, OBC and Minorities. Party was registered by National Election Commission of India on 1 June 2012. Party contested general assembly elections in Jharkhand in 2015 and in Uttar Pradesh in 2017 and keeps on organising dharana, rallies etc. on different political issues.[9] later in 2019 Chak joins Bhartiya Janata Party but resigned in May 2020.
