iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus[lower-alpha 1] are upcoming products in the iPhone line of smartphones made by Apple which may be released sometime in between September 15, 2023 and October 7, 2023.[1][2][3][4][5] These phones are to be released with iOS 17, which is in the iOS line of software made by Apple. It will succeed the iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus. It would be released on September 22, 2023, as Apple scheduled their special announcement event for September 12, 2023.[6][7] Pre-orders would then occur on September 15, 2023.

Design

Dynamic Island

The Dynamic Island will come to the non-Pro iPhone 15's. However, the Dynamic Island may be changed to include the proximity sensor, instead of the proximity sensor being under the Dynamic Island.[8]

Display

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will come in two sizes 6.1", and 6.7" sized displays, and will look identically similar to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will not have always-on display, as this continues to be more exclusive to the Pro models only since iPhone 14 Pro.

Colors

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will come in five new colors. Black, or Midnight, Green, or Starlight, Yellow, the brightest shade of Blue, and the hottest shade of Pink.

On August 28, 2023, it has been confirmed that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will come in five new colors. It may be Apple's first time to not have a white color option for the standard models, while the iPhone 15 Pro models will also lose the gold color option referring to iPhone 5, and iPhone X that did not have the gold color option.[9]

Chipset

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will use Apple-designed system on a chip, the A16 Bionic, while the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will have a faster A17 Bionic, according to many rumors. It will be identical to the A16 in the previous year's iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

Charging Port

The whole iPhone 15 lineup will be switching to USB-C due to the EU regulations.[10][11][12][13][14]

Prices
