Personal life and Education[edit]
He was married to Padmavathi in 1982 and he had 2 daughters. He completed his education from A.M.A.L college and he got his M.com from Andhra University. He is a businessman, politician, trader and also an educationalist.
Political life[edit]
He started his career by entering into Indian National congress in 1980. In 1989, he contested Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency and was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha by winning with a majority of just 9 votes against his closest rival, P. Appalanarasimham of the Telugu Desam Party. In 1991, he was elected to the tenth Lok Sabha from Anakapalli constituency. In 1990 and 1992, he was elected as the President of Visakhapatnam District Congress Committee. In the 1996 parliamentary elections, he was defeated by Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu by a margin of 50,000 votes.[1] In 2004, he was elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly, winning with a margin of 17,000 votes against Dadi Veerabhadra Rao. In 2009, he contested for the Legislative Assembly on behalf of the Congress Party and lost to Praja Rajyam Party candidate Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He became the minister of the Commercial Taxes Department in YS Rajasekhara Reddy's cabinet in 2004 [2] Ramakrishna who was close to Rajasekhara Reddy stood to YS Jaganmohan Reddy after his death.
During the 2014 general elections, he was the in charge of Visakhapatnam Parliament. His younger brother Konathala Raghunath contested as MLA from Anakapalle.
