Param Bir Singh

Param Bir Singh is a 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who served as Police Commissioner of Mumbai, from 29 February 2020 until his removal on 18 March 2021.[1] Param Bir Singh succeeded Sanjay Barve as police commissioner. He was previously posted as the Director General (DG) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). He is a former Police Commissioner of Thane.[2][3] The Maharashtra government removed Singh as commissioner on 18 March 2021 in the aftermath of a security incident in which sticks of gelignite were discovered outside of the home of businessman Mukesh Ambani.[1] Param Bir was succeeded by Hemant Nagrale as Police Commissioner of Mumbai.[4]
