Tatarstan is ruled by various regimes throughout its history. Since 1945, the landlocked country was ruled by the Soviet Union (USSR). The National symbols of the federal Constituent Republic of Tatarstan are the symbols that are used to represent the Tatar peoples proper and abroad to represent the country and its people's.
