Kumkum Munshi

Kumkum Munshi was one of the most prominent painters in the field of Rubber-Solution based artistry in Kolkata. He was born to artist Annada Munshi and Jayati Munshi and one of the proud members of the Munshi family of Paikpara-Talapark . Not only in Rubber-solution based paintings, Munshi was well skilled in other art forms like realistic paintings, graphic arts and abstract arts as well.[1][2]

Inspiration

Munshi was highly inspired by the artistic approaches of legendary American Painter Paul Jackson Pollock, for his unforgettable contribution in the field of abstract expressionist movement.

International recognition

Munshi's artistry was highly praised in Europe, especially in Scandinavian countries.

Demise

On 27th August, 2001, Munshi breathed his last in Talapark, Kolkata, at his own residence.
