Gattem Venkatesh is a micro artist. He engraved artifacts and names on fine objects such as pencil sharpeners, scraps of paper, ice cream sticks, soap bills, matchsticks, and toothpicks.
His hometown is Chinadoddigallu , Nakkapalli Mandal , Visakhapatnam District . He was born on May 28 , 1996 to Suribabu and Satyavati . His father was a farmer. The mother is a housewife. His primary education was at the Gautam Model School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Geetham University , Visakhapatnam in 2019.
Venkatesh, who developed an interest in fine art at an early age, invented wonders with every object that appeared to the eye, such as pencil thorn, scrap paper, ice cream stick, soap stick, matchstick and toothpick. He has created over 400 works of art in one go and has won over 100 awards. These include the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of Records .
He decided to carve ' The Empire State Building ' in New York City on a toothpick and after 6 years struggled to finally build it. He carved 'The Empire State Building' on a toothpick in the most delicate shape, 18 millimeters long. This miniature design put Venkatesh in the Guinness Book of World Records . The 19 - year - old is credited with creating the record.
He conducts workshops to teach his art to others. So far he has trained 15000 students in micro arts in 80 schools. He also teaches making decorative items from waste.
