Shankarrao Genuji Kolhe was an Indian politician and the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Minister in Government of Maharashtra.[2][3] He is also the founder of National Heavy Engg. Co-operative Ltd., Pune, Sanjivani Rural Educational Society, Kopargaon, Godavari (Khore) Co-operative Milk Society, Yashwant Poultry, Devayani Co-operative Bank Ltd., Kopargaon.[4][5][6]

Political Career[edit]

Shankar Rao Kolhe contested for elections multiple times and won most of the elections. In 1972, he won his first election from Shirdi (Lok Sabha constituency).[7] And then he won and became Member of legislative assembly in 1978, 1980, 1990, 1995, 1999 respectively from Kopargaon (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[8][9] He was also the Cabinet Minister for Revenue, Transport, Co-operative, Horticulture, State Excise.[10]
